A sense of independence: with commissions in Sheffield and the City of London, Pringle Richards Sharratt is establishing an enviable reputation
Article Abstract:
Pringle Richards Sharratt (PRS) is an independent architectural practice formed by John Pringle nine months ago. The new firm's springboard is its connection with the V&A museum and its first major building will be the Millennium Gallery and Winter Garden in Sheffield, if Lottery funding is available. PRS rates ecological concerns high on its agenda and its entry for the Hungerford Bridge competition reflects this. The practice also takes on relatively small jobs and its latest project is an in-depth appraisal of Bastion House for the City.

Exploration and experiment: Pawson Williams is celebrating its first decade as a practice pursuing work in a European rather than simply a British tradition
Article Abstract:
Pawson Williams Architects was established 10 years ago and is proud of being part of a tradition of modern building. Terry Pawson believes that Post-Modernism helped to raise concerns for the spaces between buildings, and the practice refers to its own work as 'contextual minimalism'. Keith Williams believes that architecture should appeal to the senses and emotions.
