A simple SLP algorithm for solving a class of nonlinear programs
Article Abstract:
A simple successive linear programming (SLP) algorithm for solving nonlinear optimization problems commonly found in coal lending and food blending cases is used. The algorithm uses existing linear programming codes and is very popular because of its simplicity and flexibility. Tests on 36 problems where 32 belonged to A and the rest belonged to B showed that iterations for group A problems stand at 8.563 while B problems showed 14.00 iterations. All had a standard deviation of 3.158.

A review of warehouse models
Article Abstract:
Recent literature on the optimization of warehouse design and management includes models for throughput capacity, storage capacity and warehouse design. Internal and external storage facility layouts are also covered. Dynamic problem structures that result from product demand rate fluctuation in the facility planning stage comprise recent trends in operations research. Definitions of terms that commonly appear in warehousing literature are included.

The influence of demand variability on the performance of a make-to-stock queue
Article Abstract:
The negative effects of demand variability on the performance of stochastic inventory in an unlimited production capacity are examined through the analysis of single-item in a single-stage production/inventory system operating in a make-to-stock mode.
