A simulation approach to reliability analysis of weapon systems
Article Abstract:
A simulation model was developed based on a functional diagram to compute the mission reliability and reliability indices of Spanish Navy weapons systems. The functional diagram-based simulation model is a generalization of the logic diagram for simple series-parallel systems. Furthermore, the construction of the functional diagram does not require information on the minimal path or minimal cut sets for parameters pertaining to the reliability of weapons systems.

Design of a distributed fiber transport network with hubbing topology
Article Abstract:
The model for the bilevel hierarchical network structure of fiber transport network with hubbing topology (FTNHT) can generate a dual-based solution heuristic with near optimal design plans. The classical network design model is simplified and modeled through the multicommodity flows. The design was first treated with three major decision factors namely, the hub facilities, the conduits, the fiber optic cables.
