AITC launches guide to dispel public confusion
Article Abstract:
In the UK 63% of people consider themselves too poor to have equity investments, according to a recent survey by the Assn. of Investment Trusts. It also found that 14% of people believed that high-interest bank accounts gave a higher return than investment trusts and that 38% said that their lack of understanding about investment trusts made them reluctant to invest in one. As a result the Assn., in partnership with 7 providers, has sent free investment trust guides to 130,000 targeted customer via the post.

Berkeley network puts off stockmarket listing
Article Abstract:
Costs of regulation have recently led to three IFA networks deciding to put off plans to float themselves on the Alternative Investment Network. These were Burns-Anderson, M&E Network and the latest Berkeley Independent Advisers. Annual regulation costs at Berkeley amount to GB 450,000, which relate to competence and training issues, and they now plan to aim for internal growth and higher profits.
