AOL plans to restructure, cut up to 1,000 positions

America Online Inc. (AOL) announced that it will downsize as many as 1,000 workers as it carries out a restructuring at Netscape and its other businesses. AOL is planning to downsize 350 to 500 Netscape jobs. It is also going to downsize the same number at its other businesses. AOL said that it wants to integrate Netcscape's operations and to build on the company's operations.
