AT&T considers IPO for TCI-related stock

AT&T Corp. is studying the possibility of conducting an initial public offering (IPO) of some of its new tracking shares. The new shares will be created as part of AT&T's acquisition of Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI). According to analysts, the tracking stock would have a value of more than $35 billion, not including debt. AT&T is acquiring TCI for $32 billion.
