While a spokesman for Berglandmilch says that the company has not been contacted, Walter Zorer, director of NOM says that talks are been resumed about the merger of the two dairy groups. He suggested that the talks will be concluded within the next few months. If the merger goes through, it would mean the end of plans by Berglandmilch and Obersteirische Molkerei to set up a Sch 700mn dairy in St Michael, Styria. Originally construction start was scheduled for autumn 2000.
