AUSTRIA: PROSPECTS FOR AT & S
Article Abstract:
Willi Dorflinger, head of the Austrian Hinterberg-based semiconductor manufacturer, does not rule out AT & S - Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik AG teaming up with a partner. AT & S might even be content with a minority stake. The company's search for an acquisition target in the US have so far remained fruitless. Those companies that are interesting for AT & S are either too big or not for sale. By 2004/05 AT & S aims to raise turnover to EUR 1.3bn. Also in future deliveries to the mobile phone industry should contribute 60% to turnover. At the same time, the share of circuit boards for automotive board electronics of AT & S' turnover is to be raised from 5% to 20%. In the financial year to 31 March 2001 AT & S expects a 40% increase in turnover and profit. The company aims to maintain earnings before interest and taxes rate at 16%.
