AUSTRIA: TV LICENCE FOR FRANK STRONACH

Austria's regulator of private radio stations has accepted the satellite TV licence application of the Austrian-Canadian industrialist Frank Stronach . Provided that he is granted a book-making licence, Mr Stronach will launch a betting TV station via the Astra satellite. Originally Mr Stronach had been in talks with Osterreichische Lotterien, which is to launch its own sports and betting channel in cooperation with ORF .

AUSTRIA: TRUMPF TO EXPAND PRESS PRODUCTION

Probably in February 2000, the machine-building company Trumpf is to start construction of an extension to the existing factory in Pasching, which produces folding presses. Since 1993 the factory has increased 10-fold the production of bending machines.
