Accepting a nuclear North Korea
Article Abstract:
North Korea's unwillingness to let go of its nuclear weapon's program is a cause for considerable irritation to the United States. However, the U.S. will not resort to any military action against the country. All eyes are turned towards China for resolution to this problem. It may be recalled that China has persuaded the fellow communist country to come forward for peaceful talks a number of times but the ultimate decision belongs to the ruling Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

China's failure in diplomacy
Article Abstract:
China could have used the crisis in Iraq and North Korea in regaining it's position in the international community. It could have mediated between Iraq and the US, or at least in the case of North Korea it can cash on the communication problem between Washington and Pyongyang and initiate talks. Failure to do either is the result of a lack of vision and initiative on the part of the policy makers.
