Additional members added to Russian TEMP family
Article Abstract:
FKN GKNIPAS has presented the details for its new TEMP 30 off-route top-attack mine and TEMP 40 short range assault weapon in its advanced development stage. The TEMP 30 is a combination of an explosively formed penetrator (EFP) warhead and a rocket motor obtained from a standard 57mm air-ground rocket. Using seismic/acoustic sensors attached to the outside of its box container, the surface-laid or buried flush with the ground surface TEMP 30 ejects its EFP munition when the target approaches the required range. The TEMP 40, on the other hand, is an analog for Lockheed Martin's Predator assault weapon, but the efflux of the weapon's side-venting rocket motor results to dynamic control and hot gas residue problems.
