Alcatel-Lucent posts loss, to cut more jobs

Alcatel-Lucent of France is planning 12,500 job cuts in total after a net profit loss of 618 million Euros ($805.8 million) compared with 381 million Euros last year. Revenue is down 16 percent to 4.42 billion Euros from 5.25 billion Euros last year. The telecommunications giant is integrating a recent merger and reported a combined profit-loss statement.
