Alcoa's net falls 16% on storms, high energy costs
Article Abstract:
Alcoa Inc., the world's largest aluminum producer by volume, has reported a 6% drop in earnings for the fourth quarter of 2005. The drop is said to be the result of such factors as the high cost of energy and raw materials, and the negative impact of Gulf Coast hurricanes. Nevertheless, the company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Alain Belda, is optimistic in his predictions for Alcoa's growth in 2006.
