An evaluation of due date, resource allocation, project release, and activity scheduling rules in a multiproject environment
Article Abstract:
Results of a research aimed at evaluating due date, resource allocation, project release, and activity scheduling rules in a multiproject environment indicated that workload sensitive due date rules offer improved due date estimates than workload insensitive due date rules. The performance of due date sensitive resource allocation rules is highly influenced by due date nervousness. The due date insensitive First In Project release rules can function better that the due date sensitive resource allocation rules when due date nervousness is not lessened.

A hybrid two-stage flowshop with part family, batch production, major and minor set-ups
Article Abstract:
A study evaluates forward and backward allocation policies of solving flowshop scheduling problems. A two-stage hybrid flowshop problem model is formulated with one machine in stage one and multiple identical machines in stage two. Major and minor setups as well as part families are considered in the model. Results reveal a forward allocation policy that greatly reduces makespans in flowshop scheduling problems.
