Economic crisis may continue to linger; despite persistent woes, executives are seeking investment opportunities
Article Abstract:
The Asian economic crisis is seen to persist until the end of 1999, or even later. This was the perception of almost two out of three of the 505 Asian-based executives who participated in a survey conducted by Asia Society and 'The Asian Wall Street Journal.' The picture was even dimmer for more than one out of three of those polled who foresee the crisis lasting until the mid-2000 or later. However, despite such grim prognosis, most of the executives polled still find Asia an investment-friendly destination, particularly China, Japan, Thailand and Korea.
