Asian computer firms avoid attack fallout on solid demand
Article Abstract:
Compal Electronics Inc. of Taiwan and Acer Communications and Multimedia Inc. do not foresee any slow-down in demand as a result of the terrorist attacks on the United States. Computer systems that were destroyed will have to be replaced, but this may be offset by reduced consumer confidence in the wake of the attacks. Flextronics International Ltd., which is headquartered in San Jose, California, but which has its operations in Singapore, does not expect the terrorist attacks to significantly disrupt its operations.
