Australia hopes to be finance center

The government of Australia has instituted major economic reforms aimed at transforming the country into a global financial services center. The reforms has included the total reorganization of the nation's tax system resulting in the abolition of financial services taxes and the widening of exemptions on corporate bond interest withholding taxes. The Australian government has also extended Offshore Banking Unit eligibility and eased the existing Foreign Investment Fund guidelines.

The highly competitive market created when Australia's telecommunication industry was deregulated has prompted local telephone companies to partner with advertising agencies to craft marketing campaigns. Most of the conceptualized ads were geared towards increasing long-distance market share, improving customer retention and promoting cellular phone services. With this turn of events, advertising agencies received the most benefits because of the increase of projects and clientele.
