BAT to build tobacco plant

British American Tobacco PLC is planning to invest 100 billion won to build the first foreign-owned cigarette plant in South Korea and break the monopoly held by Korea Tobacco and Ginseng Corp. Recent relaxation of investment laws in South Korea may encourage more tobacco companies to enter the potentially lucrative market.
