BIFR LOOKS FOR NEW PROMOTER TO REVIVE HARYANA PETRO
Article Abstract:
The Board for Industrial and Financial Construction (BIFR) is searching for a new promoter for the Haryana Petro-chemicals Ltd. The new promoter will take over the management of Haryana Petro- chemicals Ltd and invest the funds required for reviving the sick company. The Board for Industrial and Financial Construction has ordered the Industrial Finance Corporation of India to advertise in newspapers for a new promoter. This decision of the Board for Industrial and Financial Construction follows the inability of the present promoters to develop a revival package for the Haryana Petro-chemicals Ltd. The promoters have been given the option of submitting a revival scheme along the new promoters. (ag/kvr)

Akai Electric Company Ltd has decided to set up a joint venture with Dhoots of Videocon group. The joint venture company, Akai India Ltd, will help Akai launch its operations directly in India. The joint venture will market a range of hitech products and also launch new product concepts like plasma television and a range of DVDs in the local markets.
