Robert Malone, recently appointed CEO of BP PLC's American business, is meeting with staff across the United States before deciding what changes are needed. He has also appointed a special liason to regulators, in an effort to improve BP's relations with the U.S. government following a number of regulatory and criminal investigations .

BP, Shell to analyze Iraqi oil fields

British Petroleum Company PLC and Shell Oil Co. have been awarded retainers for technical studies of two of the largest oil fields in Iraq. The deal could help promote ties between Western oil industry executives and Iraqi oil officials.
