Bank of Scotland PLC is expected to post an improvement in its pretax profits for the first-half of 1999. The bank is expected to report between 435 million pound sterling to 463 million pound sterling in pretax profits in the period ending August 31, 1999. During the same period in 1998, Bank of Scotland posted 420 million pound sterling.
