Batching decisions for assembly production systems
Article Abstract:
A study investigates the minimization of make-span in a two-stage assembly scheduling problem under alternative assumptions on the batches, which are formed by grouping the jobs. A comprehensive complexity classification of the problems is provided under one type of batching, and a heuristic and its worst-case analysis is presented under a second type of batching.

A triple objective function with a Chebychev dynamic pick-and-place point specification approach to optimise the surface mount placement machine
Article Abstract:
Three strategies for optimizing the efficiency of surface mount placement machines are presented. The options considered for the purpose are minimizing the assembly cycle time, minimizing the total exchange frequency and minimizing the triple objective function.
