Benign conspiracies: economic history suggests that collusion between companies is not always an evil plot to fleece customers
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the economic effects of export cartels shows that small businesses in the same industry were more likely to work together to reduce costs instead of raising prices. The analysis shows that consideration needs to be given to the economic effects of a cartel by antitrust analysts.
