Berkshire Hathaway posts 44% increase in bond holdings

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. posted an increase in its bond holdings for the second-quarter of 1999. As of June 30, 1999, the insurance holding company reported a 44% improvement in the fair value of its fixed maturities securities to $30.4 billion (28.75 billion euros). On March 31, Berkshire posted $21.1 billion. Berkshire is owned by Warren Buffett. The company posted a 2% fall in the total fair value of its investments in equity securities.
