Swire struck deals to sell larger stakes of Cathy Pacific and Dragonair to its mainland Chinese partners, CITIC Pacific and China National Aviation Corp (CNAC). Buyers and seller fared well, but CNAC's deal, based on the threat of starting a rival airline, bodes ill for capitalism in Hong Kong.
