British Steel, Hoogovens to merge
Article Abstract:
A stock-swap merger agreement between Koninklijke Hoogovens NV and British Steel PLC will lead to the formation of the third largest steel maker in the world. Consolidation in the steel industry has been spurred by depressed prices for steel mill products and the continuing economic crisis in Asia. The new steel giant will be named BSKH.
