McDonald's names CEO as chairman

Jack M. Greenberg, the chief executive officer (CEO) of McDonald's Corp., was appointed as the company's chairman. The 56-year old Mr. Greenberg will be replacing Michael R. Quinlan who resigned from the post in 1998. Mr. Greenberg was appointed as CEO in order to reward him for turning McDonald's around recently. His appointment concludes a senior management shuffling that started in 1997.
