CHANGE AGENTS IN CHENNAI
Article Abstract:
Real estate developers in Chennai have started leasing properties as the prices of outright sales have fallen. Developers have started entering into lease deals with good corporates and multinational companies and investors can expect to get returns of 12-15 percent per annum on their investments. In some of the recent major lease transactions in the central business district of the city, Satyam Computers leased about 30,000 sq feet at Rs30 per sq feet per month (pspm), Canon leased 4,200 sq feet while Marubeni leased 4,000 sq feet at Rs38 pspm. Developers have realised that transactions are taking place only at Grade A buildings and that poorly designed and located properties are failing to attract market interest. (khr)
