CHEMINOR DRUGS NET PROFIT DROPS TO Rs4.81 Cr
Article Abstract:
The net profit of Cheminor Drugs of Hyderabad declined to Rs4.81 crore for the year ended March 31, 1998 (Rs7.85 crore in 1996- 97). Dividend has also fallen from 30 percent to 15 percent. Net sales has increased to Rs154.88 crore (Rs130.48 crore). Other income is Rs5.58 crore (Rs3.32 crore). Interest costs went up to Rs13.54 crore from Rs9.34 crore and depreciation to Rs8.88 crore from Rs6.39 crore. Tax was Rs0.26 crore as against Rs1.23 crore in 1996-97. (uh)

Cheminor Drugs, a subsidiary of Dr Reddy's Group, registered 1,245 percent increase in net profit to Rs5.75 crore in the third quarter of 1998-99 (Rs42.73 lakh in the third quarter of 1997- 98). Its gross profit grew by 177 percent to Rs8.57 crore. The export income grew by 63 percent to Rs40.68 crore. Its main bulk products are naproxen and ranitidine. In the generic market it has launched nizatidine, oxaprozin, nabumetone and sertraline for the generic markets. (gs)(m)
