COMPUTECH TO ENTER SOFTWARE EDUCATION
Article Abstract:
Computech International Ltd (CIL), a software development and personal computers assembling company, plans to foray into software education. It proposes to establish state-of-the art technology training centres in Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai and Chennai. CIL's move follows its aim to post a sales of over Rs150 crore during 1998-99 (Rs56 crore currently). It is negotiating with an US computer training company for becoming its key franchisee. The new centre will concentrate on software applications based on Oracle, Windows, SAP-ERP and a range of Internet software solutions. (ag)

MERBANC, MICROSOFT TO OFFER IT TRAINING

Merbanc Financial Services Ltd has tied-up with Microsoft Corp to enter the information technology training segment. Merbanc has set up the Merbanc Computer Academy which will be offering trainees the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer course. Merbanc, which was formerly a category one merchant banker, had been searching for alternative avenues to stay in business ever since the Securities and Exchange Board of India stipulated that merchant bankers should form separate companies and invest Rs5 crore to undertake fee-based activities. ATL TO FOCUS ON MICROSOFT COM TECHNOLOGY
Article Abstract:
The software development and consulting company, Advanced Technology Labs Pvt Ltd (ATL) of Chennai plans to provide training in Microsoft component object model (COM). COM is used to develop software components, small binary executables that provide services for applications, operating systems and other components. The training will be provided in two phases spread over 12 months. In the first phase, the trainees will be taught to work on COM, object linking and embedding, ActiveX technologies and related areas. (gsh)
