Cadbury weighs drink purchase from P&G

U.S.-based Procter and Gamble Co. has been in discussions with UK-based Cadbury Schweppes PLC to acquire P&G's Hawaiian Punch beverage operations. Industry analysts have said that other bidders, including PepsiCo Inc., are vying for the $150 million Hawaiian Punch drink business. Procter and Gamble officials are interested in selling the popular beverage brand in order to focus on businesses that demonstrate a higher potential for growth.

Bestfoods auction expected to fetch up to $1.5 billion
