Cambodian finance minister faces long to-do list in attracting investment
Article Abstract:
Cambodian Finance Minister Keat Chhon believes that natural disasters are keeping his country from achieving its economic growth targets. Chhon stated that the inflow of foreign investment into Cambodia is adequate but that more is needed, especially for export-oriented manufacturing, agribusiness and tourism. Chhon admits that corruption and peace and order are big stumbling blocks to economic development but he stressed that the government is trying to do its best to address these problems.

Hold that tiger: big cats are elusive sight in India
Article Abstract:
Many tourists flock to India expecting to see tigers in their natural habitat. India's Ranthambore park is considered as one of the best places to catch a glimpse of the animal but there are no gaurantees that visitors will get what they came for. A writer recounts how he and his family went to Ranthambore to see the tigers. Unfortunately, tiger sightings were almost as rare as the animal and they only saw two after going out on three safaris.

Does corruption stunt growth?
Article Abstract:
Economists believe that political corruption adversely affects economic development. Economists stress that corruption results in the misallocation of resources and makes it hard for companies to monitor and control costs. They concede, however, that predictable and well-organized corruption can offset inefficient government practices and is a necessity for certain developing Asian countries.
