Car rental in Germany
Article Abstract:
Car rentals in Germany decreased in 1992 due to increased car ownership and preference for brand new cars. Vehicle fleets numbered 190,000 compared to 88,000 in 1982. About 6.3% of West Germans and 4.3% of East Germans also rented vehicles in 1992. A growth of 9% is expected by 1998 influenced by the declining East German demand for vehicles. Statistics on specific markets and backgrounds on major car rental agencies are presented.
