Casualty insurers in Japan agree to megamerger

Mitsui Marine and Fire Insurance Co., Nippon Fire and Marine Insurance Co., Koa Fire and Marine Insurance Company Ltd.plan to form a single holding company with total assets of 6.1 trillion yen within two years. The firms are the third, fifth and eight largest casualty insurers in Japan, and the holding company would be Japan's largest.
