Cendant ends deal to buy Royal Automobile Club

Cendant Corp. is terminating its deal to acquire Royal Automobile Club Ltd. for approximately 450 million pound sterling ($735.9 million). The move was Cendant's third withdrawal from a deal in recent months. The company said it was terminating the deal because the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in Great Britain directed Cendant to give up its Green Flag breakdown assistance business.
