China gives go-ahead for open-end fund

Huaan Fund Management Co. has been granted regulatory approval by the Chinese government to start an open-end investment fund capitalized at $600 million. The fund, named Innovation Fund, is open to individuals and institutions and shows China's willingness to allow foreign participation in joint-venture funds in the future.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission is making it easier for unprofitable companies to delist their stocks from the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges. This will greatly affect ailing state-owned companies, and prepare the country for entrance to the World Trade Organization.
