Article Abstract:
As per the UK government, the European Union Commission's proposal to restrict North Sea cod fishing is likely to have adverse effects on some of the ground fish vessels which are likely to find it difficult to make a living. EU commission's reasons for demoting the area to a by-catch area are discussed.
