ConocoPhillips to buy stake in Lukoil

American oil company ConocoPhillips is to purchase a 7.6% share in Russia's OAO Lukoil. The investment is part of an alliance between the two companie s, one which Conoco hopes will give it a foothold in Russia and perhaps pave the way for it to become the first Western oil producer to return to Iraq since the outbreak of war there in 2003.

Russia to lift gas-export duty
