Contemporary and colourful treatment for open-plan space

The headquarters of oil company, Amerada Hess Ltd has been fitted out by interior designer, Aukett Associates. The open plan office areas are designed for small workgroups and reflect the company's policy of using computer technology to the full. Natural light is channelled into the interior spaces from an atrium and through the glass doors of office cells located around the perimeter. The board room and staff restaurant are decorated in bright colours and designed to convert into emergency control rooms.

A hospice that feels like home for AIDS sufferers

Article Abstract:

Colwyn Foulkes and Partners has been responsible for the design of an AIDS hospice in Brighton, England, the first purpose-built AIDS hospice in the UK. It is design to give a homely environment, and for this reason uses materials and design features often seen in ordinary homes. It offers flexible accommodation, and has facilities including a restaurant, a mortuary, two day rooms and administrative offices.
