Cranfield balances the books
Article Abstract:
Architect, Sir Norman Foster, has designed a new library for Cranfield Institute of Technology. The building was completed on budget at 7.5 million pounds sterling and on time. Cranfield is Britain's leading post-graduate university of science, technology and management and wanted a library which reflected the technological aspect of its work while encouraging group activity and innovation. The building is square, with glass and steel structure. Unusually in libraries, natural lighting a major feature. The contract was managed carefully in order to keep within the budget.

Refurbishment
Article Abstract:
PolyGram International entertainment and music concern has just relocated into an office in St James's Square, London, UK. The building looks very drab from the outside, but the interior has been transformed by Jestic & Whiles. The 4650 sq mt building also houses around 22 units of PolyGram, and the interior design allows each organisation to customise the decor to match its own identity.
