Crossgain fires about a quarter of its employees

Crossgain Corp. suddenly laid off over twenty of its eighty workers, approximately one-fourths of its labor force, in a move to calm tensions with Microsoft Corp. All twenty workers were formerly employed by Microsoft, which did not want to see its former workers competing against it.

U.S. files an antitrust suit to halt Compuware deal
