Article Abstract:
Australian retailers are more inclined to adopt personal selling as promotion tool than their Hong Kong counterparts. Australia's inclination towards personal selling is closely associated with the country's score in collectivism index, which is higher than that of Hong Kong. Variation in collectivism index scores between the two countries can be attributed to changes in work-related values over time and diverse market sectors.
