DAEWOO NOT TO SIGN MoU FOR ITS NEW CAR
Article Abstract:
Daewoo Motors, the single largest foreign investor in the Indian automobile industry, has indicated to the government that it is not willing to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) for its new small car, Matiz. Daewoo feels that the MoU route should not be made compulsory for the launch of every new model. Due to keen competition, companies decide to introduce new models in a short span of time. Hence, it is not possible to sign MoUs for every new model. The company is of the opinion that MoUs should be signed on the basis of investments and technology brought in. Daewoo is in talks with the government in this regard. (uh)
