DEN AMERIKANSKE FORBINDELSE
Article Abstract:
The paper presents an interview with John Anderson, who is Ameritech's main representative in Tele Danmark, the Danish telecom, and responsible for Tele Danmark's business strategy until the new MD Henning Dyremose takes office in October. John Anderson says Ameritech finds Tele Danmark a more complex company than anticipated, with organisational problems and other business relations than Ameritech is used to. In addition, the deregulation of the Danish telecoms was more far-reaching than expected by Ameritech. John Anderson says the new legislation has a negative impact on Tele Danmark. However, Ameritech retains the goal for Tele Danmark, a 10% profit growth per share annually. John Anderson says the Internet market is a great potential growth area, and that the company aims at improving profitability in cable TV operations as well.

KONKURRENTER FORBEREDER NY OFFENSIV PA TELEMARKEDET
Article Abstract:
"Alternative" telecom operators in Denmark are prepared to be on the offensive, once the Government's bill which enables them to take over telephone subscriptions from Tele Danmark is passed. Tele2 is planning to launch services that integrate telephony and the Internet, and value-added services such as forwarding etc. at rates which, in many cases, are 20-40% under Tele Danmark's rates. Telia also says the company is able to offer fixed telephony services at 20-30% lower rates. Mobilix, which is owned by France Telecom, is planning to employ 400-500 persons in the next two-three years.
