Deal set to make Vivendi big player in videogames

France's Vivendi S.A. will obtain a controlling stake in American videogame firm Activision Inc. to expand its presence in the videogame sector. It will merge its gaming division and provide cash to create a new company named Activision Blizzard. The transaction values Activision at $8 bil, with Vivendi paying $27.50 a share and gaining a 68% stake in the new company.
