Denmark: IT security business forecast to grow

The market for IT security business is growing at a rapid rate in Europe. Analysis company IDC, that carried out a survey of the entire European market for IT security products, predicts a dramatic rise in the business. According to IDC, turnover from IT security software totalled DKr580mn whereas the market for IT security hardware such as smart cards, fire walls and biometrics, stood at DKr220mn in Denmark alone in 2000. IDC says it is mainly the small and the medium-sized companies that are gaining a greater understanding of the business and are expected to make major investments in it.

Denmark: TeleBilling on the lookout for investors

TeleBilling, the Danish software company, is on the lookout for external investors that can bring DKr50mn into the company. According to MD Jesper Schack, the money would be used for expansion in Europe. The company supplies billing software to telecoms companies and needs to have the financial resources while the business conditions in Europe remain positive.

DENMARK: DAMGAARD TO EXPAND ABROAD

The Danish software company Damgaard is planning to target the French and Italian markets for co-called ERP systems. Furthermore, the company is to integrate its CRM solution with the ERP systems. Analyst Morten Friis, Sydbank, says there is demand for such integrated systems among middle-sized companies.
