Deutsche Bank gets a makeover in image of chairman Breuer

Deutsche Bank AG's chairman Rolf Breuer plans to make Deutsche a global bank. Deutsche expects to announce a $9.2 billion acqisition of Bankers Trust Corp., the eighth biggest bank in the U.S. The combined banks would create the world's largest bank with assests over $800 billion. Breuer convinced the managing board that a major purchase in the U.S. was necessary to create a credible investment banking business. Breuer has been with Deutsche his entire career and the chairman for the past 18 months.
