Deutsche Telekom, union reach deal in dispute over job transfers

German labor union ver.di and telecommunications firm Deutsche Telekom AG have reached an agreement regarding wages and outsourcing. The union will increase weekly work hours from 34 to 38, with employees taking a 6.5% pay reduction. In return, Deutsche Telekom will not implement outsourcing until 2010 and will guarantee the positions through 2012.
