Direct and indirect network effects: are they equivalent?
Article Abstract:
Network effects can be direct or indirect. The study seeks to distinguish the ways in which direct and indirect effects influence technological standardization. Some changes in the parameters have opposite effects in the two models and some other factors, which are irrelevant under direct effects are central under indirect effects. Compatibility is an issue that has different interpretations.
