Distributing the database
Article Abstract:
It has become increasingly recognised recently that there may be problems associated with the use of centralised project databases in building design work. Using a centralised database can create problems of responsibility, and it is not always possible to ensure that all project partners are working on the most recent data. It may be more appropriate to use a network of linked databases, having a centrally managed core model only of all the information to which all the project partners must have access.

Getting your measure
Article Abstract:
The UK Construction Best Practice Programme (CBPP) has developed a key performance indicator pack to be used as a tool to compare construction projects to a standardized measurement. There are seven data sets relating to different areas of the construction industry. Each data set includes 10 indicators of performance which can be compared to industry benchmarks. The sets cost 19.95 pounds sterling each. The CBPP have worked alongside industry to develop the sets.
